Monte Pino Day is a special event that will celebrate, each April, the bond between nature, the territory and the people who experience, care for and love it.
Promoted by Ambiente Mare Italia in partnership with the Municipality of Telti and local associations, cultural bodies and social organisations, Monte Pino Day aims to become an annual event devoted to discovering, enhancing and protecting one of Gallura’s most representative places.
Over the course of the day, Monte Pino will become a great open-air workshop where residents, students, families, hikers and visitors can take part in numerous activities devoted to the area’s nature and culture.
Guided excursions, nature walks, biodiversity activities, meetings with experts, educational sessions, workshops, practical activities, photography exhibitions, traditional stories, tastings and opportunities for discussion will accompany participants on a journey to discover Monte Pino’s environmental and cultural heritage.
Monte Pino Day is devoted to nature, but also to memory. It is a day on which to rediscover the history of Gallura, the traditions of the stazzi, the stories of local communities, the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, the value of the landscape and the role each of us can play in preserving it.
The mountain festival also seeks to provide a meeting place for different generations: an opportunity to pass on to younger people a sense of belonging to an extraordinary territory and to strengthen awareness that environmental protection begins, above all, with knowledge and love of the places in which we live.
Each year, Monte Pino Day will feature a renewed programme, engaging residents and visitors in experiences that are always different but united by a single goal: to make Monte Pino a shared symbol of identity, nature, culture and the future.
